Juliette & The Licks

Artist information

Juliette formed the band Juliette and the Licks in 2003, they made 3 records and toured the world. Dave Grohl played drums on their last one and invited them to play Hyde Park in 2005. After touring endlessly for 6 yrs, Juliette took up a solo project produced by Omar Rodriguez Lopez of the Mars Volta. "I wanted to grow as a song writer and break the traditional song structure of verse, chorus, verse, chorus. I also wanted to explore different rhythms.. Omar and Thomas Prodgen on drums was perfect for that. I always call that my "weird record". We made a really groovy trippy record most written from my songs on piano that Omar loved.”

After 5 years off from touring. Juliette got together with Brad Shultz of Cage the Elephant to write and produce her latest record. The two had met in London after The Licks show when both were on tour. "I feel like Cage was making the kind of soulful rocknroll I love." With this latest record I feel I've come full circle. Its full on, super fun, blues tinged, kind of 60s garage rock influenced."  I put together the best band I know with Todd Morse my main collaborator in the Licks to tour".

Juliette and the licks are known for a crazy explosive chemistry on stage and super muscular rock sound. "
We'll be playing songs old and new. See you on the road.
